Last Friday night here in Nassau, an American (Kyle Bruner, 34) was shot (and later died), as he tried to stop three punk a** Bahamians from robbing two women at gun point. Kyle was the first mate on the Liberty Clipper.

We personally had nannies. Ladies which took care of me and my brother, disciplined us (oh, yeah, and they were good at it too), fed us, took us to church, shopping, worked beside my family and became “friends”. Not the case in most instances for sure.

Foreign direct investment is the driving force of this economy. Foreign labour on the domestic side meantime is an integral part of our socio-economic structure. To handle this irresponsibly is to threaten the economy. The Bahamas cannot afford to lose its foreign investments and investors. If every single expatriate closed their companies and/or left the job and went back home right now, our country and its economy would come to a complete standstill.
